Stop the procrastination. Make up your mind and do it. Just do it.Too Many Things to Do List Easier said than done, right? Most of us delay. We wait. We wait for the right moment. We wait for a signal. We wait for an omen. We wait for the universe to tell us everything will be okay.

But the signal never comes. The omen isn’t delivered and, well, my communication with the universe has been a little faulty lately.

So we wait. Telling ourselves that the moment will come. The omen will be delivered. The power of the universe will give us a message. We wait until we know with certainty that the time is right.

But the time is never right. I can always second-guess any decision, both in foresight as well as hindsight.

Nothing is ever perfect.

And I make mistakes. Lots of them. I want to play it safe, not take any chances. I want to be perfect even though I know, in my heart, I’ll never be perfect and perfection isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

I have a personal critic. He sits on my right shoulder. I don’t know why my right shoulder, but that’s where he sits. My personal critic is quick to tell me the time isn’t right. Quick to tell me it won’t work. Quick to tell me I’ll fail.

If I listened to him with certainty, nothing would ever get done.

So I’ve made up a rule to control my personal critic.

The Rule of Three….

I’ll put something off three times before I decide to do it or not to do it, to let go. Not doing something is a valid decision. Without the Rule of Three, decisions just languish in a personal purgatory. The decision keeps haunting me ad nauseam. I can drive myself crazy with this.

Try it. Consider a decision you have to make no more than three times, and then let it go. You’ll be glad you did.
